Project Results and Impact:
Pima County Fair's long-standing partnership with Anchor Wave entered its newest phase with the completion of a Platform Upgrade which rebuilt the Fair's website onto an entirely new technology foundation. The “new” site keeps the beloved look and feel of the original, but resolves a number of technical challenges, and is much easier for the Fair team to update and change as needed.

A little bit of backstory
The Southwestern Fair Commission, Inc., is a non-profit, private corporation, established in 1975 by Pima County to operate the fairgrounds and the Pima County Fair. Under the management agreement set forth by the Commission and Pima County, all profits earned from operations are put back into the facility for improvements.
Anchor Wave built Pima County Fair's last website in 2013, and provided hosting and support. As the site reached its 10th year, it began to encounter greater technical challenges, leading Anchor Wave to propose solutions for a new, rebuilt version of the site.
Same look, brand new foundation
Anchor Wave's Platform Upgrade kept Pima County Fair's iconic website design, but with an entirely new technical foundation. The Platform Upgrade site includes PHP v8, the latest version of WordPress, Elementor Pro, and a fully up-to-date suite of plugins.
Training Included
Anchor Wave provides custom training sessions to ensure that the Fair team is confident working with the new tools and features of their rebuilt website. Our training sessions are hosted as video calls, which we record and share afterwards so our clients have record they can refer back to!

Mobile Responsive
Knowing that a huge percentage of traffic comes from visitors using smartphones, every page of a Platform Upgrade is reviewed and adjusted to ensure that it not only works on mobile devices, but looks good on them!
Pima County Fair can rest assured that fairgoers can access schedules, events, and all the details they need to enjoy their visit right from their phones while on the fairgrounds.
