We’re looking for a PPC Specialist to serve as Anchor Wave’s expert for Pay-Per-Click advertising, with a primary focus on Google Ads. This role owns the strategy, implementation, optimization, and evolution of our PPC service offering for local small-to-midsize businesses.

This is not a junior or purely tactical role. The PPC Specialist is empowered to make strategic decisions, challenge assumptions, propose new approaches, and continuously refine how we deliver paid advertising services. While Anchor Wave has standards and proven processes, results and consistency are what matter most.

You will work closely with Client Success Coordinators (CSCs), empowering them with insights, strategy recommendations, and performance explanations so they can confidently communicate results and next steps to clients. You are accountable for campaign implementation, performance, innovation within the PPC service, and driving measurable outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the strategy, setup, execution, and ongoing optimization of Google Ads campaigns for 20+ client accounts
  • Set up and manage Google Ads accounts from the ground up, including account structure, conversion tracking, integrations with analytics and CRM systems
  • Build and launch search, display, remarketing, and performance-focused campaigns aligned with client goals
  • Conduct comprehensive keyword research to identify high-intent, cost-effective opportunities
  • Write compelling, conversion-focused ad copy and create variations for ongoing testing
  • Design, build, optimize, and iterate on landing pages with a strong focus on conversion performance.
  • Apply conversion-focused design principles to layouts, visuals, messaging, and calls-to-action
  • Monitor and optimize campaigns on an ongoing basis by:
    • Adding and removing keywords
    • Managing match types and negative keywords
    • Adjusting bids, budgets, and targeting
    • Improving Quality Scores, efficiency, and ROI
  • Execute A/B tests across ad copy, landing pages, and campaign structures to continuously improve performance
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, insights, and optimization opportunities
  • Determine and recommend appropriate monthly ad spend ranges based on audience, goals, and campaign strategy (typical budgets range from $500–$10,000/month)
  • Prepare clear, accurate monthly performance summaries and insights for internal teams
  • Support and empower Client Success Coordinators by:
    • Providing performance insights and strategic recommendations
    • Proposing new ideas, tests, and optimization opportunities
    • Helping translate technical results into clear client-facing narratives
  • Respond to Head of Creative requests for strategy changes, insights, and campaign updates in a timely manner
  • Stay current with Google Ads updates, PPC best practices, and industry trends
  • Drive innovation within Anchor Wave’s PPC service by testing new approaches, tools, and frameworks that improve results and scalability

Requirements:

MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of hands-on PPC experience, with a proven track record of results
  • Deep expertise in Google Ads (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently drive measurable PPC results across multiple accounts, including clear examples of performance improvement (e.g., CPA reduction, conversion rate increases, Quality Score improvements, or ROI gains)
  • Experience managing multiple accounts simultaneously with varying budgets and goals
  • Strong understanding of lead-generation campaigns for local small-to-midsize businesses
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Google Tag Manager
    • Google Analytics (GA4)
    • Conversion tracking and attribution
  • Experience building and optimizing landing pages for performance
  • Familiarity with HighLevel or comparable marketing automation and landing page platforms
  • Experience using tools such as SEMrush, or similar keyword and competitive research tools
  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactically
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort making data-driven decisions
  • Organized, self-directed, and accountable for outcomes

NICE-TO-HAVE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience creating or refining ad visuals using tools like Canva
  • CRO or experimentation experience beyond basic A/B testing
  • Experience contributing to service or process improvements within an agency or marketing team
