IMG_6990Congratulations to our own Anthony Rivera on being named one of Tucsonโ€™s 40 under 40 winners. Hosted by the Arizona Daily Star and the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the award recognizes 40 young leaders who are making an impact in the Tucson community through professional and charitable work. 40 nominees (20 women and 20 men) are selected. In October, one female and one male honoree will be named Tucsonโ€™s man and woman of the year.

Anthony was selected out hundreds of nominees for being a leader in the business community and the Tucson area alike. Anthony discovered his affinity for websites and Internet Marketing while working at Intuit assisting clients with their accounting software, Quickbooks.

Teaching himself Web design and Internet-based marketing techniques, Rivera created a niche at Intuit for developing small websites to assist internal teams with managing their processes. In just two years Anthony and his team were able to grow a 20,000 member community into a thriving 250,000 member social network that connected small businesses and accountants.

In 2008, Anthony joined Anchor Wave as a Website Strategist to further develop his interest in Internet marketing. Given a blank slate to build a process to help existing clients get more out of their website, he created a new division for Anchor Wave which helped drive a 53% growth in revenue in 2008 and even more importantly helped Anchor Waveโ€™s clients succeed.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Anchor Wave is succeeding because of Anthonyโ€™s stewardship. Since joining Anchor Wave in 2008, Anthony has been responsible for dramatic financial growth and developing the company from a one-man shop to an office of 15 employees. Anthony plays a strategic role in positioning the company as an industry leader in Internet Marketing and Design. To date, the company has created more than 740 websites supporting National and local businesses and non-profit organizations.

Anthony is an active member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Ad2 and the Executive Association of Tucson and always looking for ways of using talents to help the Tucson community.

A Tucson native, Anthony uses his Internet and social media expertise to guide area non-profits such as the Boys and Girls Club of Tucson, the Rotary Club and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

โ€œThis is my homeโ€”our home. Being born and raised here I have seen Tucson grow. Now that Iโ€™m in a position that I can give back, I want to be able to show that we are a good corporate citizen,โ€ said Anthony

As a father to three with one more on the way, Anthony has a strong interest in non-profits that support Tucson children. Anthony and the Anchor Wave team have sponsored the Foothills Club of Tucsonโ€™s golf tournament and lead the communications efforts for the groupโ€™s Love on the Rocks event.

In 2011, Anthony joined as a board member for the American Lung Association campaigning for the fight for air walk soliciting donations for walkers, recruiting walkers and other area businesses to sponsor the cause. Anthony created a brand for the walkโ€™s Facebook page increasing engagement and driving participants to register.

โ€œAnything we try to dream up, Anthony is instrumental in helping us do it,โ€ said Mike Schmidt, Anchor Wave CEO and Founder.

Anthony coaches clients take advantage of the best opportunities that will make real changes in their businesses. Anthony is a champion for small businesses leveraging all of his experiences to help them achieve their dreams. He is rewarded by seeing the impact that Anchor Waveโ€™s guidance can have.

When you see Anthony congratulate him and cross your fingers for the big breakfast in October.
