Understanding Google Average Rankings

The Google Average Position ranking system attempts to offer a solution to the phenomenon of website rankings possibly differing for two people, even if the two people are searching for the same term. In the past, Google didn't provide this data, forcing us to depend on unreliable scraped rankings. The Google Average Position Ranking takes into account differences in location, type of device, and personalization, giving users a much more accurate picture of search engine ranking than scraped rankings do.
